Dear friends and colleagues,
California’s much-anticipated draft regulations for the medical cannabis industry were released today. This begins a 45-day public comment period, where people can provide feedback on the proposed regulations in writing and via public hearings. The agencies involved (the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Department of Food and Agriculture, and the Department of Public Health) will evaluate the comments submitted and may make changes. If the changes are significant, a new 45-day public notice and comment period will be needed before the regulations can be adopted. We encourage you to read through the draft regs as well and send in your own comments, as these regulations will affect just about everyone in the medical cannabis industry, from producers to consumers to patients. The last day to submit comments is June 12th.
